The resort is split into the Ivory lodge, situated in lush green grassland over looking the plains, and the River lodge, 100 metres down stream from Ivory lodge based on the banks of the Sabie River, east facing giving splendid views of the sun rising over the Kruger national park.
Both Lodges offer guests a private bar, situated next to a wonderful ornate fireplace as well as a library lounge, wonderful wine cellar, exceptional viewing decks as well as the renowned Lalamuka Spa and Gym and open air dining area (Boma).
Lion Sands is a great place to start a game drive and the perfect place to return to after a long bush walk.
The resort offer exceptional cuisine as standard and the team make sure that you are fully satisfied prior to heading out for safari (except the early morning drives 5-6 in the morning were breakfast is waiting on your arrival). For the longer drives a small “packed lunch” is also prepared to tie you through until dinner.
The kitchen focuses on high quality ingredients with traditional African meals and cooking techniques. Dinner is served on the Boma – an outdoor dining area, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the sunset, and the wonderful food by candle light.
